Meet Big Crazy Larry
By Tina Clough, 25 Feb 2010
25-year-old Matthew Robert Hunt has sported not only a blue Mohican but visible piercings to have a joke with fellow employees at Anglian, where he fits windows and doors alongside his Dad.
Big Crazy Larry said, "I am always finding new ways to pull the legs of the office staff at Anglian and I suggested to my Dad last week changing my name by Deed Poll before the new ID cards come into force so that mine would have to feature my new name. Needless to say, I woke up on Sunday and decided to take the plunge."
After changing his name with The Legal Deed Service for as little as £10, Big Crazy Larry then told his friends of his new name and they all thought it was hilariously funny, all except his mum who was not impressed to say the least.
Big Crazy Larry added, "I fully intend to keep my new name and I have already started thinking about contacting the Inland Revenue and the bank to notify them of my name change. I always try to be different and this has taken it to the very next level.
"My Dad expects these kinds of things from me but I have to say my missus is not too impressed and I think at work it will go down like a lead balloon. To be honest it is only a bit of fun and it only took a few minutes to apply online."
Jamie Jackson, chief executive of The Legal Deed Poll Service, who were responsible for legally changing Christine Hamilton's name to Mrs. British Battleaxe, said, "We get so many crazy name change applications, but this one gave us all a bit of a laugh in the office!
"It really is so easy to change your name by Deed Poll and I think many people are surprised at just how easy it is to do.
"An applicant just needs to fill out and send us a simple online application form along with £10 for an adult name change and within a few days they will receive an official deed which should be signed in the presence of a witness. Once this has been done their new name is official."
