Undischarged bankrupts

If you’re an undischarged bankrupt you are free to change your name by Deed Poll. However if you’re self-employed and wish to trade under your new name, you are legally required to make it clear to everyone with whom you do business that you have undergone a change of name. (This requirement doesn’t apply once you’ve been discharged from bankruptcy.) You are also required to tell the Official Receiver dealing with the bankruptcy about the name change.
