3. If you have dual nationality

If you’re British but also a national of another country (i.e. you have a foreign passport in addition to your British passport), you will need to check with the other embassy to see if your name change will be recognised by their passport service.

If not, you will need to enquire if whether holding a British passport in one name and a foreign passport in another will cause any problems when travelling in the future.
