New Moniker for 'Friends' Fanatic
Published: 8th October 2010

A Manchester based 'Friends' fanatic has officially changed his name by Deed Poll to Ricky Princess Consuela Banana Hammock Reigns – a name chosen by Phoebe on the hit TV show.
Richard Reigns, who works in the adult entertainment industry, changed his name by Deed Poll on Tuesday with The Legal Deed Poll Service after deciding to make Ricky Reigns his new name.
The 22 year-old who describes himself as 'A lady of the night' said: "Everyone calls me Ricky so I decided to make it official with a Deed Poll certificate. I'm always trying to make my friends laugh and stand out from the crowd, so in the end I changed it to 'Ricky Princess Consuela Banana Hammock Reigns' much to everyone's amusement.
"My friends were throwing some other suggestions into the mix which included 'Energy' and 'Hanky Doodle', but because of my fascination with the TV show 'Friends', I went with the name chosen by the character Phoebe in season ten when she realises that she can change her name to anything she likes.
"She does, however, say in the course of the episode that her friends can call her Valerie for short! Maybe my friends will use that option for me!"
Boasting ten piercings, a carefree attitude and a 'GAY' tattoo on his leg, Ricky hopes that his brand new moniker will continue to amuse his friends and family, especially when he gets his official documents and passport changed.
Ricky, whose friends think his new name change is 'a bit of fun' added: "I haven't told my mum about my new name change yet. I think I'll call her later as I've asked for the Deed Poll to be delivered to her house! She may not recognise the name on the envelope and throw it away!"
Jamie Jackson, chief executive of The Legal Deed Poll Service said: "Just as Phoebe in the hit TV show realised, it is possible to change your name to anything you like providing that it's not offensive or done to deceive people. It costs from as little as £10 to change your name and, as Ricky has realised, it is a great way to show your individuality.
"So far this year we have processed name change applications for people wanting to be called 'Her Majesty The Queen', 'Miss Jelly St Tots', 'Willy Wonka' and 'Tiger Rawr'"
Christine Hamilton, who changed her name with the Legal Deed Poll Service last year to Mrs British Battleaxe, said: 'Good for Ricky. It's a great piece of fun and I'm sure he'll enjoy his new name as much as I enjoy mine.'
