NHS Worker in 'Royal' Name Switch

Published: 31st March 2010

Queen-In-Deed

An NHS call operator has given himself a bizarre royal moniker after becoming Her Majesty The Queen

David Lennox, 29, from Aberdeen, changed his name by deed poll to raise money for cancer research.

But to avoid confusion for patients he has decided to answer the phone as Madge. He explained: "It's allowed and I am now officially Her Majesty. Dave Lennox has gone."

Jamie Jackson from the Legal Deed Poll Service said: "We've been chuckling like mad about this. It's a splendid idea – more power to him."
