Is a Deed Poll registered anywhere?

Strange as it may seem, even though a Deed Poll is a legal document that officially (legally) changes your name, there is no mandatory register name changes in the UK. However, out of the estimated 100,000 people who change their names each year in the UK, approximately 120 people choose to add themselves to a voluntary register of name changes held at the Royal Courts of Justice in London - this is known as 'enrolling' a Deed Poll.
