The police under section 29(3) Data Protection Act 1998
In accordance with section 29(3) Data Protection Act 1998, the Legal Deed Poll Service is required to release any information we hold about you to the police when we are requested to do so. You should note that the police can only request information about you for the purposes of preventing or detecting a crime or to assist in the apprehension or prosecution of offenders. This does not extend to helping the police with tracing missing persons.
Any person with parental responsibility for a child
We will only do this if the child is under the age of 16 years at the time we receive the request for information.
Government departments, companies and organisations
We will only do this to confirm the authenticity of a Deed Poll to a connected third party. We often receive requests from the passport office, DVLA and financial institutions to confirm the authenticity of Deed Polls presented to them by our clients.
Data Security
The Legal Deed Poll Service will only collect personal data from individuals who choose to complete an application form, request a call-back or live online chat or from people who send emails to us.
When you access our website, the Live Chat facility will store your IP address to enable us to provide you with the Live Chat service. A record of your name, email address and any other data that you supply using the Live Chat facility, will be stored by us.
