Eamonn Holmes explains how to legally and officially change any part or all of your (or your child's) name with the Legal Deed Poll Service.

What is a Deed Poll?

Good afternoon,

Welcome to the Legal Deed Poll Service

The Legal Deed Poll Service is a trusted issuer of government approved Deed Polls which you can use to legally and officially change any part or all of your name, for example you can change your (or your child's) forename or surname (or both), add names, remove names, change the spelling of your names and/or rearrange your existing names.

Don't just take our word for it. To read our many testimonials click here or to see articles about us in the national press and television click here.

Your Deed Poll from the Legal Deed Poll Service is guaranteed to be accepted by all UK Government departments, companies and organisations, enabling you to get all your official documents and records changed to your new name, including your passport, driving licence, bank account, credit card, medical, tax and National Insurance records, etc.

The process of changing your name by Deed Poll is simple and there are three ways you can apply: online using our secure application forms (secured by VeriSign), by calling our Helpline or by visiting one of our offices in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland (appointment required).

Whichever way you apply for your Deed Poll, your documentation will be promptly delivered to your door within one to two working days (or sooner if you require an express delivery).

To find out more about how to legally change your or your child’s name by Deed Poll and what options are available, please use the menu tabs at the top of this page.

If you have any questions which we can help with you can either: click here to request a call back, click here to chat online with a Deed Poll Officer, or call 0800 043 4321 (calls from landlines are free of charge).
